Tengri is not considered a deity in the usual sense but a personification of the universe. However¸ certain qualities associated with Tengri as judge and source of life and being eternal and supreme¸ led European and Muslim writers to identify Tengri as a deity of the Turkic and Mongol peoples. According to Mongolian belief¸ the will of Tengri (jayayan) can break its own ordinary laws and intervene by sending a chosen person to earth. It¸ is¸ also¸ one of the terms used for the main deity of the Turkic and early Mongol peoples. The worship of Tengri is called Tengrism. The basic beings of Tengrism they are the Sky Father (Tenger Etseg) and the Earth Mother (Umay Ana). Involves ancestor worship as Tengri was believed to would have been the ancestral progenitor of mankind in the Turkic regions and Mongolia¸ în shamanism¸ animism and totemism.

Brief History of Archery

Archery¸ that is¸ the use of the bow and arrows is documented since the Late Middle Stone Age (about 70𬻀 years ago).

This activity is documented as part of warfare and hunting in the classical period and figures in the mythologies of many cultures until the late 19th century when it was replaced by firearms.
Archers were a widespread¸ often supplementary¸ part of the army in the classical period¸ and archers fought on foot¸ in chariots or on horseback. Archery became prominent in Europe during the late medieval period¸ where victories such as the Battle of Agincourt cemented the longbow in military tradition.

Archery¸ both in hunting¸ and in war¸ it was eventually replaced by firearms in Europe¸ in the late Middle Ages and early modern period. Firearms eventually spread throughout Eurasia via gunpowder empires¸ gradually reducing the importance of archery in warfare throughout the world.

Archery is still practiced today¸ for hunting and as a target shooting sport
We would like to mention that bow hunting in Romania is prohibited and is considered poaching under current legislation.
